Affiliate Disclosure
We want to be upfront about how ChefPicks (chefpicks.ca) makes money, because knowing that is part of trusting what you read here. In short: some of the links on this site are affiliate links, and if you buy through one, we may earn a small commission — at no additional cost to you.
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
How it works
ChefPicks is a participant in the Amazon Associates programme. When you click a "Check Price" or "View on Amazon" link on one of our reviews and go on to buy something on Amazon.ca, Amazon pays us a percentage of that sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be without our link — the commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not your pocket.
This is the main way we fund the work behind the site: researching appliances, reading through buyer reviews, tracking Canadian prices, and writing the reviews you're here to read.
What it does not do
Affiliate income never decides which products we cover, the scores we hand out, or which model wins a roundup. Our commission is the same regardless of which product you buy, so we have nothing to gain by steering you toward a pricier or worse option. A product we rate 6/10 earns us exactly what a 9/10 does. How we actually reach our verdicts is documented in full on our How We Rate page.
Spotting the links, and a note on prices
Links that take you off ChefPicks to a retailer are marked with an external-link icon. Prices and availability shown on our pages are indicative and can change quickly — always confirm the current price on Amazon.ca before you buy.
The rules we follow
We disclose this relationship because it's the right thing to do and because Canadian guidance expects it. Our approach follows the Competition Bureau's guidance on testimonials and reviews and the Ad Standards Canada disclosure guidelines, both of which call for any material connection between a reviewer and the products they recommend to be made clear and prominent. It also meets the disclosure requirements of the Amazon Associates programme.
